Many of you ask us “why are you so passionate about Tacos and cocktails”… and the answer for our founder is very simple… because some of his best memories have been with either a taco or a cocktail in his hand.

For us, Tacos are not another “meze” or “side dish” as this glorious street food is treated by most of Mexican Restaurants outside of Mexico and the US. For us a Taco is way more than just a delicacy.

It is being welcomed in Cancun by your Mexican friends with a dinner at an authentic Taqueria and experiencing real Al Pastor Tacos for the first time.

It is tasting Cochinita Pibil Tacos in a real Hacienda in Merida, Yucatan.

It is welcoming to the the US a fellow Greek immigrant  with Carnitas Tacos and a bottle of wine in an empty apartment looking at World Trade Center from across Hudson river.

For us Tacos are way more than just delicious Mexican Street Food. Grabbing a taco means friendship, hanging out, connecting with People. It means meeting your favorite people and sharing not just Mexican Food, but also moments, memories and emotions.

This is why we brought Mentirosa to life. It was not about creating just a Mexican Restaurant. We created it in order to share with everyone visiting Kerameikos what it truly means to savor tacos and give you another reason to create memories and stories.

As per our favorite meme “Alcohol: because no great story ever started with someone eating a salad”. That’s why we decided to accompany our tacos with some of the best Alcohol we could get our hands on! We specialize in Cocktails and Spirits that Celebrate the Heritage of Mexico. From the largest variety of Margaritas in town, to authentic Palomas to a long list of incredible Tequilas and Mezcal.
